Our Sweet Sally

What an incredible 16 years our sweet Sally girl gave us!

Like any good puppy, she left behind a few shredded packages, sacrificed plants, and countless holes in the yard as she buried, and often reburied, her bones and toys until they were in just the right spot.

Sally took chasing geese off our lawn very seriously and never gave up hope of catching a squirrel, even trying to climb trees to improve her chances. When it came to sticks, bigger was always better. She proudly paraded around the yard carrying branches twice her size!

She was the kids’ favorite soccer defender (much to the dismay of several soccer balls), a neighborhood celebrity who was known by name before we were, and she loved sitting on the steps like a person, happily watching the world go by. No matter the weather, she always wanted to be outside.

Most of all, Sally was loyal, loving, and always by our side. She brought endless joy to our family.

And thanks to all of her dog hair or, as Dr. Sandra affectionately called it, her “dog glitter”, little reminders of Sally are still everywhere in our home. Her sparkly memory will live on forever.

Thank you for all your unconditional love. We miss you!
